Private Markets & Corporate Advisory
Alexis is a Private Markets Specialist. Alexis is focused on sourcing and structuring differentiated private market opportunities across asset classes and advises Saranac clients on their private markets Fund strategy and Co-Investment sourcing and execution.
Given his corporate finance background, Alexis also has extensive experience partnering with clients and their operating businesses to execute a range of corporate strategic initiatives.
He advises a diverse group of European entrepreneurs and Family owned business across their operating business focused on executing complex transactions including Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Raises & Structuring, Corporate Private Equity and Strategic Joint Ventures.
Prior to joining Saranac Partners, Alexis worked for Citibank where he headed the EMEA Private Markets Investment team. Alexis has over 16 years of Private Equity investment experience with 3i Group, LGT Capital Partners, as well as the Boston Consulting Group and Credit Suisse’s Investment Banking Department.
Alexis holds a joint Major in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University, and an Msc in International finance from Skema Business School in France
Allan joined Saranac Partners in December 2017 as part of the Operations team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, and implementing processes to ensure helpful supporting of the front office and clients
Allan has over 18 years experience in private banking, having previous worked for UBS, Ruffer LLP, AXA, Rothschilds, Cazenove and Schroders.
Allan holds a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Management from King’s College London.
Arvin is part of the Private Capital team at Saranac Partners. He supports the team across its diverse range of investment & advisory mandates.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2021, Arvin worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Gleacher Shacklock, an independent corporate finance advisory firm. He also has experience at Expand Research – A Boston Consulting Group Company.
Arvin holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Bath.
Benedicte is a Client Advisor at Saranac Partners. She advises a diverse client base on all their financial affairs, from wealth planning to investments across all asset classes.
Having built relationships over more than 15 years and covering multiple generations, Benedicte provides expertise on long-term planning and evolving investment horizons.
Benedicte joined Saranac in 2019, having worked in wealth management at UBS and ACPI, as well as capital markets at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
She is a graduate of HEC Paris and holds a Masters Degree in economics from Sciences Po Paris. Benedicte is a French national and a fluent Russian speaker.

Ben is an Investment Advisor at Saranac Partners. He specialises in cross-asset advisory, analytics and execution.
Ben provides bespoke investment solutions and idea generation across a variety of asset classes. He performs investment analysis for clients and focuses on enhancing the trading capabilities of the firm.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2016, Ben worked within the Portfolio Solutions team at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management.
Ben gained his undergraduate degree in Accounting & Finance from Warwick Business School.
Bhim is part of the Private Capital proposition at Saranac Partners, supporting the team across its diverse range of investment & advisory mandates.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2019, Bhim worked at a boutique corporate finance firm specialising in advising founder & owner led businesses on mid-market M&A and capital raising transactions across all major sectors in Western Europe.
Bhim holds a BSc in Government & Economics from The London School of Economics.
Advisory Investments & Execution
Brent is an Investment Advisor at Saranac Partners, a member of the Investment Committee and responsible for the firm’s Proposition. He specialises in multi-asset class investment advisory and tactical opportunities, while providing outsourced CIO solutions to family office clients.
Brent joined Saranac in 2016 from Barclays where he led the UHNW investment proposition and formerly worked at Morgan Stanley as an Investment Advisor. He studied at the University of Sydney and completed his studies at the University of Vienna.
Brit is a Compliance Associate at Saranac Partners. He supports the business and their activity by looking at the regulatory impact as part of the Governance team. Brit helps ensure FCA and European guidelines are adhered to and supports new initiatives.
Brit previously worked in the Compliance Advisory team for the Deutsche Bank Wealth Management business. Prior to that he held multiple controls related positions in different divisions for Deutsche Bank.
Brit has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Florida and an MBA from Aston University.
Christina is a Team Assistant at Saranac Partners. Christina joined Saranac Partners in 2016 from Sanctuary Personnel where she acted as Assistant to the MD, CEO and CFO. Prior to this Christina held the dual responsibility of Assistant to the Executive team and Office Manager at IV Global.
Advisory Investments & Execution
Christophe is an Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager at Saranac Partners. He specialises in fixed income, derivatives and structured products.
Using his technical background, Christophe provides tailored investment solutions to private and institutional clients. Christophe’s role is to identify opportunities and design optimal investment solutions across asset classes.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2018, Christophe spent 7 years as the Investment Strategist at a London based single Family Office, advising on a multi-billion dollar balance sheet. Christophe started his career as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Société Générale in Luxembourg.
Christophe is a French citizen and holds an Master of Science in Risk & Asset Management from EDHEC Business School.
Dan joined Saranac Partners in 2016 and is responsible for managing client relationships, advising on the effective allocation of capital and delivering bespoke investments and solutions. Dan’s particular area of interest and focus is supporting the founders of high-growth technology businesses. Over the last ten years, he has built trusted relationships across the European tech community.
Previously, Dan spent a number of years working with entrepreneurs at Barclays. Prior to this, he worked for a mid-market consultancy where he served private and public companies across sectors.
Dan holds a BA in Economics and is a Member of the CISI.
Daniel is an Associate in Operations at Saranac Partners. He works with data and performance, integrating custodians with Saranac’s portfolio management systems, ensuring the integrity of performance metrics and developing automated solutions and management information.
Daniel joined Saranac in 2019 from SS&C Technologies where he held roles in both Client Finance and Enterprise IT, providing services to asset managers and hedge funds.
Daniel holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Bristol and the IOC from the CISI.
David Bloom is a Partner at Noe Group. David oversees all the private equity and venture capital investments. David was previously Chief Executive and founder of Goldacre Ventures, now part of the Noé group and he continues to oversee this division and has personally over seen more that £300m of investment. David has a wide-ranging background with over 14 years’ experience in the Technology Media and Telecommunications industry as an investor, founder and investment manager.
Edmond Klinke joined Saranac in 2016 as a Portfolio Manager and member of the Investment Committee
Prior to Saranac he managed Discretionary Portfolio Management teams at both HSBC and Barclays Wealth. Ed started his career at Citigroup Asset Management as a portfolio manager in the emerging markets team, and later was responsible for managing the global equity model as well as portfolio construction and risk management of multi-asset class portfolios
Ed has over 25 years of industry experience, a B.A. (Hons) degree in Business Studies and Italian from University College London and is a CFA charter holder
Prior to joining Saranac Partners in 2017, Elizabeth was providing Client Service to HNW clients in roles at Rothschild & Co Wealth Management and Barclays Private Wealth.
Elizabeth holds a BA (Hons) in Finance and Business from Bournemouth University.
Ella is a member of the Client Services Team at Saranac Partners.
She works alongside our Client Advisors, Proposition and Operations teams to help support clients in their investment and financial affairs.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2020, Ella worked for a social impact organisation and a boutique M&A firm. She holds a BA in History.
Emily works across the client team, management and operations. She provides business management support, looking at data, KPIs and end to end processes.
Emily joined Saranac in 2015 from Barclays where she started as part of the client team and later joined the COO team looking at how to improve client processes.
Emily has a Masters in Biochemistry from Oxford University and has cycled and ran across Europe for charity
Freddie is a member of the Client Services Team at Saranac Partners.
He operates alongside our Client Advisors, Proposition and Operations teams, to deliver a tailored and seamless experience for our clients. This can pertain to wide range of client activities, from the onboarding of prospective clients, to the construction of portfolio reviews.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2020, Freddie has worked with a boutique management consultancy firm and has competed internationally as an athlete. He holds a BSc Honours degree in Psychology.
Giovanni is a Client Advisor at Saranac Partners and advises a diverse group of clients focussing on UK/International family offices, financial services executives, US persons, technology entrepreneurs, and foundations.
Giovanni has worked for over 20 years in wealth management. He was previously a Managing Director at JP Morgan Private Bank in London, and prior to that worked at Brown Brothers Harriman and Citi Private Bank in New York.
Giovanni studied at Oxford and Cornell Universities and is on the UK Committee of charity: water. He is fluent in four languages.
Gordon joined the Board of Saranac in 2017 as a non-Executive Director.
Gordon is Chief of Staff at Aberdeen Standard and acts as advisor to the CEO in defining the company’s strategic agenda and delivering the projects that support this. He also manages and coordinates the company’s Global Leadership Group, which is responsible for delivering and monitoring progress against their business plans.
Gordon joined Aberdeen Asset Management in 2016 from Cantor Fitzgerald where he held the position of Joint CEO. Before this, he was Head of Financials and Investment Companies at Canaccord Genuity following its acquisition of Intelli Corporate Finance, of which he was a founder. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant at the Scottish Institute in 1984.
He is also a non-executive director of Personal Assets Trust and the Noé Group.
Helen is Saranac’s in-house lawyer. She is a senior lawyer with in excess of 20 years’ experience in private banking, retail financial services and insurance law. Helen’s expertise covers regulatory, corporate, governance and company secretarial work.
Prior to joining Saranac in September 2019, Helen was General Counsel and Company Secretary at a start up mortgage lender, she has previously held head of legal positions at Coutts Bank and Bupa UK Insurance.
James is an Operations Associate, who joined us in the Summer of 2019 after 5 years in Wealth Management Operations at James Hambro & Partners and Sandaire.
As part of the Operations team, James provides support for our Client Advisers and Propositions team as they work with our clients.
James graduated in 2012 from Loughborough University with a BSc in Economics.
Jeff joined the Board of Saranac Partners in 2017 as a non-Executive Director.
He is a U.S. based investor and an innovator in both the private equity and alternative asset industries.
Jeremy joined Saranac Partners as a Founding Partner in August 2016.
He advises a diverse group of UK entrepreneurs and families across their investment portfolios and broader family issues. Jeremy is an experienced finance professional and adviser, having started his career in 1982 working for Laurie Milbank.
Over the course of his career he has held senior positions at Flemings, JPMorgan, Schroders and Kleinwort Benson. He also acts as a consultant to family owned property company Martin’s Properties and serves on the management board of Bradford Estates.
Jeremy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment
Josh is part of the Private Capital team at Saranac Partners. He advises clients across Mergers & Acquisitions and Investments.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2020, Josh worked in Corporate Finance for a multi-national hospitality company. Josh earned his chartered accountancy from Deloitte and worked in the M&A Transaction Services team as a generalist across both buy-side and sell-side mandates.
Josh holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from MacEwan University.
Katherine is a Client Advisor at Saranac Partners. She joined Saranac in 2018 from ACPI, where she was a Managing Director.
Katherine has over 20 years’ experience working with clients including entrepreneurs, foundations, smaller corporates and family offices across the UK and Europe. She spent the majority of her career at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse.
Katherine holds a BA in Modern Languages from University College London.
Kathy joined Saranac in September 2020 and leads our internal finance function. She provides internal financial support to both client advisors and the operations teams.
Kathy has an LLB from UCL and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Southampton, London and Amsterdam. She then moved into Private Equity investing and spent six years at 3i Group plc, originating and executing investments for their €5bn buyout fund. Most recently, she ran her own business helping Private Equity houses source and appraise Executive and Non-Executive management for their portfolio companies.

Keerut specialises in multi-asset class investment advisory and tactical opportunities with a focus on Equities and Equity Derivatives.
Prior to joining Saranac in January 2021, Keerut worked at Citigroup within the Institutional Client Group, working as an Equity Derivatives specialist for Hedge Fund clients. He has experience with cross asset macro, tactical single stock and special situations, as well as derivatives knowledge ranging from vanilla listed to exotic & hybrid products
He studied Politics, Philosophy & Economics (BSc) at the University of Warwick.
Maria is a Senior Client Advisor with over 20 years experience working in Financial Services. Skilled in Investment Advisory for Global Family Offices and Corporate Strategy for Family Enterprises, Venture Capitalist and Entrepreneurs.
Maria has advised large and sophisticated clients with strategic planning and decision-making for their Family Office; outsourcing CIO services, asset allocation, risk and investment management, DD and access to the best in class products and services.
In recent years, Maria has provided high level strategic advisory to approximately 25+ major Corporate Groups to achieve their goals, allocating best in class teams, in areas such as: M&A, JV, Equity Solutions, Pre IPO process, Capital raising, Stock Lending, Hedging, Debt Solutions, Risk Management, Liquidity Management.
Maria is certified by CISI and efpa.
Martin Gilbert has over 35 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Martin was a co-founder and former chief executive of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC; building it into a leading global asset manager.
He is currently Chairman of Revolut Limited, Toscafund and Deputy Chairman of River and Mercantile Group PLC. He is also the Senior Independent Director at Glencore plc.
Martin holds a MA in Accountancy and a LLB in Law from the University of Aberdeen.
Megan joined Saranac in May 2018 and is responsible for Front of House, as well as team assistant to the Proposition Team
Michelle leads business development at Saranac Partners and was one of the founding partners of the firm. Michelle works with strategic clients and partners and is responsible for marketing and communications.
Prior to joining Saranac, Michelle was Head of Distribution within the Global Investments & Services division within Barclays Wealth.
Michelle holds a degree in PPE from Oxford University.
Mike Dardis is a Client Advisor at Saranac Partners who works with a range of UK and internationally based private clients, families and other sophisticated investors.
Mike has a multi-disciplinary background in investments and advisory. His career in finance started in 2004 trading at JP Morgan before he moved to Barclays where he spent over 7 years. Prior to joining Saranac in 2017, Mike had spent 3 years advising an international private office.
Mike holds a BSc in Psychology from Birmingham University in addition to various finance qualifications.
Nuno Tarrana de Sousa
Chief Operating Officer
Nuno joined Saranac Partners in August 2021 as Chief Operating Officer with responsibility for Legal, Compliance, Risk, Technology, Operations and Human Resources.
Prior to joining Saranac, Nuno was the COO for Pictet Wealth Management UK, having been instrumental for its considerable growth.
The Imperial College graduate started his career in clinical research before joining Goldman Sachs, where he managed the wealth of Iberian and Latin-American UHNWs before moving to the EMEA COO office.
Nuno’s passion for design led him to co-found MIKE SIMONELLI, a London based product design studio and brand with its own collection of products.
Ossama joined Saranac in 2016 having spent 15 years with Barclays covering Middle Eastern clients. Previous to that he spent 7 years with Flemings. Ossama started his career in 1975 with UBAF Bank and has a BSc from Manchester University and an MBA from City University Business School.
Phil joined Saranac Partners in July 2016 as the Head of Governance. Phil is responsible for Risk and Compliance, a role which includes the prevention of financial crime and data protection
Prior to joining Saranac Phil was the European Head of Compliance at Lombard Odier, where he oversaw Compliance for Europe. Before Lombard Odier Phil worked at HSBC where he was the Head of Compliance for HSBC Private Bank UK and Channel Islands.
Phil has held a number of senior compliance roles in Private Banking at JP Morgan, Schroders and Credit Suisse, covering the UK, Channel Islands and Switzerland
Phil is a qualified Public Finance Accountant and gained his Economics degree from Swansea University.
Ravinder is a Compliance Officer at Saranac Partners. Prior to joining in 2020 Ravinder worked at Cavendish Asset Management for a number of years as a Compliance Associate.
Ravinder is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment.
Richard Berliand’s career in the Financial Services sector spans over 35 years. He retired from a full time executive role at J.P.Morgan in 2011. During his 23 years with the Firm, he was involved in multiple asset classes and geographies, most recently as Managing Director leading the Global Cash Equities and Prime Services businesses and chairing the firm’s Market Structure practice.
Richard’s current non-executive activities include a number of roles in the markets arena, including as Chairman of TP ICAP plc, the world’s largest inter-dealer broker, and Senior Independent Director of Man Group plc, the largest listed hedge fund group. Previous non-executive positions have included Deutsche Börse AG, Rothesay Life plc, LIFFE and London Clearing House.
Chair of the Investment Committee
Richard Urwin is Chairman of the Investment Committee.
Along with other members of the Committee, he is responsible for developing and implementing the investment frameworks used by Saranac to manage client assets. These includes asset allocation, security selection and the selection of external managers. He is also involved in communicating Saranac views and performance directly to clients.
Prior to joining Saranac, he was Head of the Outsourced CIO function at BlackRock in Europe, responsible for managing $80bn of assets. He was previously Head of Economics and Asset Allocation at Gartmore Fund Managers, and an Economist at Warburgs, the Investment Bank.
Richard has a BA and an MA in economics, an MBA, and an MA and MRes in philosophy.
Rick is Head of Enterprise Technology at Saranac Partners. He is responsible for innovating, advising and managing the firm’s technology and infrastructure. As part of the COO’s office he is also responsible for the firms building and steers several projects on operational and cost efficiencies.
Prior to Saranac Partners, Rick was Head of Major Projects, Key Transactions & Events for Barclays User End Technology.
He has over 15 years IT consulting experience with a number of firms including global mining company Riotinto and multinational engineering and electronics company Bosch.
Rick has an undergraduate degree in Computing from City University London.
Robert is a member of the Private Capital and Financing & Solutions proposition team at Saranac Partners. He supports clients source, structure and execute corporate finance related opportunities.
Robert has helped clients raise debt and equity capital at Saranac and is involved with the complex illiquid investment assets that clients hold.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2016, Robert worked at Barclays where he had developed private equity, debt and real estate syndication offerings.
Robert holds a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Oxford
Robert Elliott is Chairman and a director of Saranac Partners.
He joined Saranac in March 2017.
Robert was previously Chairman and Senior Partner at the global law firm, Linklaters LLP, where he remains Chairman Emeritus & Partner.
He is also Chairman of Permanent TSB Holdings plc, the Irish bank, headquartered in Dublin.
Rob is a Client Advisor at Saranac Partners. He works alongside Jeremy Brown advising an eclectic group of families across their financial affairs.
Rob joined Saranac in 2015 from Barclays where he spent 7 years including helping to launch a Barclays wide initiative focussed on helping high growth businesses and entrepreneurs. At Saranac he has worked as part of both the client advisor and private capital teams.
Rob holds a BA in History from the University of York and a Master of Studies in Medieval History from the University of Oxford
Rupert is Head of Portfolio Management at Saranac Partners and a member of the Investment Committee. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of discretionary portfolios across the client base, focusing on the public markets, as well as being part of the team which sets out our investment strategy and positioning.
Rupert joined Saranac in 2016 and previously worked at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, where he was co-head of the UHNW Discretionary Portfolio Management business and Head of Investments for the Discretionary business as a whole. Prior to this, Rupert spent 10 years at Rothschild Wealth Management where he was Head of Portfolio Management.
Rupert has 28 years of experience in finance, and is a graduate of Manchester University (BA Hons).
Salah Alrawi is a Client Advisor at Saranac Partners.
He joined Saranac in 2019 from ACPI, where he was a partner. Previously Salah was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse UK Private Bank and an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley where he spent 14 years.
Salah studied Economics and French at St Mary’s College, California.
Sara is responsible for Human Capital at Saranac Partners.
Sara is responsible for all aspect of Human capital including Recruitment, Training and development, Reward, and Employee Engagement.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2016, Sara worked for J. Rothschild Capital Management in London.
Sara holds a Masters in Personnel and Development and a BA in History & Economics from Leeds University.
Simon is Head of Operations and Onboarding at Saranac Partners. He manages a dynamic team that supports the business with all operational matters and take-on of new clients.
Simon works closely and has built strong relationships with the custodians that Saranac has chosen to partner with.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2015, Simon worked at Lombard Odier and Close Brothers and has spent over 20 years working within Operations.
Chief Financial Officer
Simon is Saranac Partners’ CFO and also supports some of our Private Capital work.
He joined Saranac Partners in 2016 having previously worked for Barclays in corporate strategy and chief of staff roles.
Simon started his career as a management consultant with Oliver Wyman where is worked with financial services businesses across Europe.
He holds a Masters in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford.
Steve joined Saranac Partners in August 2017.
A Chartered Tax Advisor by background, he has a career in tax/financial services spanning 30 years including time at PwC, UBS, Credit Suisse, Coutts and latterly JP Morgan.
He studied Geology at Imperial College and has a Masters from Royal Holloway College. He also holds the DipPFS qualification.
Real Estate Capital & Advisory
Steven Edwards leads Saranac’s real estate investment and advisory business.
He has nearly 20 years of experience in the UK and European real estate markets. He has both advised and invested in all major commercial property classes in both public and private markets covering both debt and equity investments.
Over the course of his career he has had lead roles in over $20 billion of European property transactions – ranging from M&A advisory, IPO’s and private debt and equity investments. He previously held senior roles at ARES Management, JP Morgan and Citigroup.
Additionally, he serves on the board of Qualco (a Pimco company) and acts as CIO of Bricklane. Steve has a BA from Cornell University.
Steven is an Operations and Technology Analyst at Saranac Partners. Working within the Operations Team, the focus of his work is to help build and develop the operations and technology platform.
Prior to joining Saranac in April 2017, Steven worked with in Portfolio Services and Emerging Market Equities at Schroders.
Steven holds a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Finance from City University/CASS Business School.
Suraj is responsible for Fund Manager Research & Selection at Saranac Partners.
Prior to joining Saranac Partners in 2016, Suraj was at Barclays where his most recent role was Head of Alternatives Portfolio Management. Suraj began his career in 2005 within the alternatives research team at a Middle Eastern Multi-Family Office focusing on hedge funds.
Suraj holds the CAIA qualification and level I of the CFA and graduated from CASS Business School with a BSc (Hons) in Actuarial Science.
Tanvi is the Managing Partner and Head of Clients at Saranac Partners.
Tanvi has over 25 years of experience in Financial markets across both the Private client and Capital Markets arena globally.
Prior to joining Saranac Partners she was a Managing Director at Barclays Wealth. Tanvi also held a number of roles at ABN Amro, RBS and Credit Suisse in London, Asia and the United States.
Tanvi holds a MSc in Finance from the London Business School and a BSc in Chemistry from the University of London.
Tom is a Client Advisor at Saranac Partners. He advises a diverse group of European entrepreneurs and families across their investment and broader financial affairs.
Working with his entrepreneurial clients, Tom provides expertise to business owners from the growth stages of their businesses through to major liquidity events and beyond. Tom has a particular interest in supporting and connecting the European technology community.
Prior to joining Saranac in 2017, Tom worked with a variety of domestic and international clients at Barclays and Bank Leumi.
Tom holds a BA in History & Politics from Durham University.
Yannick was part of the Ultra High Net Worth private banking team at Credit Suisse UK before joining ACPI Investments as an Executive Director. This followed 8 years at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management developing business in the UHNW Market in the UK and Europe both for principals and family offices.
